The Supreme Lord descends in the form of Deities so that we get an opportunity to serve Him. The Lord is transcendental to our mundane senses. He cannot be seen with our present eyes, nor can He be heard with our present ears. To the degree that we have entered into the service of the Lord or to the proportion to which our lives are freed from sins, we can perceive the Lord. But even though we are not free from sins, the Lord is kind enough to allow us the facility of seeing Him in His Deity form in the temple.
In 2015, on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya, the Supreme Lord descended at Hare Krishna Mandir to bestow His mercy upon us. This occasion is celebrated by the devotees as Patotsav.
At HKM Ahmedabad Sri Sri Radha Madhav Temple, the Patotsav will be observed as three day festival from Friday, 14th May to Sunday 16th May, 2021
14th May – Chrunabhisheka. The first day celebrations include Churnabhisheka, a special abhisheka performed once a year for all the Deities of the temple. The Deities are smeared with a special powder known as churna, and bathed with panchamrita, fruit juices, flowers and water prepared with sacred herbs.
15th May - Swarna Ratha & Nauka Vihar. On the second Their Lordships will be taken for pleasure ride on the golden chariot and flower bedecked boat, followed by Dolotsava (the swing festival) accompanied by Sangeet Seva performed by the devotees.
16th May - Brahma Ratha. The third day celebration is marked with Brahma Ratha Yatra. It is said that Lord Brahma himself assumes the form of a ratha in order the serve the Supreme Lord Sri Krishna and His eternal consort Srimati Radharani.
