Every year we conduct a summer camp with various cultural and educational modules for students from Class II to X, with a view to develop cultural values and increase their spiritual awareness.
In a world infatuated with technological advancement, connecting to our roots is very essential. 'Srila Prabhupada, the founder acharya' of ISKCON, greatly desired to promote the rich cultural and spiritual wisdom of India among the younger generation. Following His desire, Hare Krishna Mandir has been disseminating spiritual knowledge and values to human society. Culture Camp focuses on making children aware of and appreciate our rich cultural heritage.
Camp Dates: May 10 – 27, 2018
Camp Time: 9:30 am to 4:00 pm
Transportation: Provided on request, with charges as per KM.
Children here learn values with stories of Vedic heroes and heroines from the puranas, they also have Gita Course, different activities on daily basis like Planting, Sports, Puppet Show, Skit, Mridnga, Kartal, Glass Painting, Cooking classes and many more. The children also get an opportunity to discover their innate talent and to hone their creative skills by participating in the module of their choice. This time we are offering 5 modules in which a child can opt for one of the below module, on which they will be trained to perform on stage during Talents Day – Sunday, May 27, 2018. All parents and family members are invited for the program. Modules are as follows:
We are also conducting a cultural tour to Dwaraka Dham for which interested parents may also join. It is a spiritual picnic, with kirtan, games and tasty prasadam; and the children imbibe love for our rich culture and heritage.
The camp culminates with a grand stage performance on Talents Day. Children enthusiastically prepare and present the art that they have dedicatedly learnt in the 15 days of the camp. Proud parents, satisfied module teachers and audience cheer and applaud their efforts. Children of different modules collaborate to present a single show and thus imbibe the most important virtue of appreciating all talents to please the Supreme Lord Krishna.

TESTIMONIALS FROM PARENTS whose children participated in previous year culture camp
“I liked the whole concept because it was not any 'Summer' Camp but a 'Culture' camp. Something which is highly needed for children specially in today's times. My child was engaged in such a positive way for these 15 days. I am very happy to see Agastya learning new Shlokas and their meanings as well as doing the harekrishna chanting. He has learnt to meet new people and make friends. Also he learnt about how to be a part of a stage act. Exposure of how to do things in a professional and qualitative way is a big learning.”

“ My son has a record of not completing any course fully but this is the first time he has completed a 15 days summer camp. Daily he used to get up early, get ready to go to camp, I have seen him enjoying the camp, he has learnt shlokas from Bhagavad Gita, meditation. Moreover, I see lot of changes in him after attending the camp, he has become more like a spiritual man, he has started behaving responsibly towards everything, I am really happy..”

“We absolutely loved this culture camp. My daughter had attended this camp for 15 days and I truly saw drastic changes in her. She started chanting 2 malas of Hare Krishna daily. One day she came home from camp and said why do we eat food without offering to the Lord and explained me the story which he learnt in camp that day, and from that day onwards we stopped onion and garlic in our house and my daughter started to offer food to God daily, I was really impressed when she was explaining me the Bhagvad gita chapter 9..”

“It was nice experience with culture camp at Hare Krishna temple, Bhadaj. As this is the second time my child participated, he is becoming more spiritual than before. Stopped eating onion and garlic, started chanting and also he says we should not do anything wrong to anyone and also not react on such activities. We will make it mandatory for him this cultural camp every year. Hare Krishna”
